Mark’s belief in the healing powers of dogs goes way beyond his work with veterans. Mark frequently travels with his service dog Bear as far as Florida, to share his messages. He does this on his own dime, and his own time.
On his most recent trip, he and Bear visited a school for neurodiverse children. He went around to each class to engage the kids and to help teach them the love of a dog. If a child was nervous, he encouraged them to take Bear’s lead to show that they were in control.
Mark also visited a rehab and long term care facility, again going room to room to engage with the patients and give them a few minutes of dog joy with Bear. One lady became so overcome with emotion in seeing Bear because of her own history with German Shepherds that she started crying, and Mark promised to send her a stuffed German Shepherd toy.
Thank you,
